Bullock Holds Seven-Vote Lead in Onondaga Legislative Primary

Nyatwa Bullock held a seven-vote lead over Charlene Tarver in the Democratic primary for Onondaga County’s 16th Legislative District after a hand count was completed Tuesday, Onondaga County Democratic Board of Elections Commissioner Dustin Czarny said Wednesday.
The Board of Elections still must certify the results. A petition filed by Tarver alleged that Bullock’s campaign fraudulently signed voter names on more than 156 absentee-ballot applications, collected the ballots and cast them for Bullock. A judge dismissed the petition Aug. 14, and the board was then cleared to canvass 14 remaining cure ballots. The results were expected to be certified Aug. 20.
