The former Morrison’s Furniture building at 230 Factory St. in Watertown is scheduled for a three-day online auction beginning at noon Monday, Oct. 19, 2026. The sale will be conducted through LoopNet in partnership with BellCornerstone for third-generation owner Cheryl “Cherie” Morrison Pastor.

The auction is scheduled to continue through Oct. 21, with the LoopNet listing showing a 1 p.m. Eastern closing time that day. The opening bid has been reported as $150,000. Commercial property listings describe the building as about 60,847 square feet, while other listings give different size figures.

The property has been empty since Morrison’s Furniture closed at the end of 2024. The business began in 1919, when Joseph J. Morrison sold furniture from a horse and wagon. It moved to 230 Factory St. in 1935 and became a longtime Watertown retailer and employer.

The store’s closure followed the failure of a six-story boiler in October 2024. The business had operated for 103 years. At the time of its closing, about 12 workers remained and the inventory was estimated at $300,000 to $400,000.

The building’s auction listing highlights exposed brick, large windows, high ceilings and heavy timber construction. It describes possible future uses including offices, loft residences or a mixed-use redevelopment.

The auction is being offered through LoopNet’s commercial real estate marketplace. Future plans for the building will depend on the successful bidder.
