Fort Drum man injured in cliff-jumping incident at Salmon River Falls

A 21-year-old Fort Drum man was injured Aug. 21 while cliff jumping at Salmon River Falls in Oswego County, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation said. He was taken by air to a hospital, and his name was not released.

Responding agencies used a high-angle rope rescue to remove the man from the water. The DEC says Salmon River Falls includes 110-foot falls, and access is prohibited within 15 feet of the falls edge and all cliff edges.
