
Four students receive first JP North Country Music Scholarships
Four members of the Class of 2026 received one-year, $750 scholarships to support music studies.
Four members of the Class of 2026 have been selected as the first recipients of the JP North Country Music Scholarship, established through the Northern New York Community Foundation. Olivia Ashley, Emery F. Monnat, Joshua P. Weiler and Madison E. Williams each received a one-year, $750 award.
The scholarship supports students from Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties who plan to study music. Ashley, Monnat and Williams are studying music education at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music, while Weiler is studying music composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Ashley graduated from Potsdam High School, Monnat and Williams from Carthage High School, and Weiler from Lowville Academy & Central School.
