The Gouverneur Breast and Ovarian Cancer Walk raised more than $95,000 during its 25th anniversary event on Oct. 3, organizers said. The group has raised more than $325,000 since the beginning of the year and distributed more than $160,000 to patients and families, according to the organization.
The nonprofit supports people and families affected by breast and ovarian cancer in Franklin, Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties. The walk was held in Gouverneur, and the organization said it continues to provide support during and after treatment.
