Ives Hill Country Club requests zoning change for clubhouse parcel

Ives Hill Country Club owner Jake Johnson is seeking to change the zoning for a 1.7-acre Watertown parcel from residential to neighborhood business. The parcel includes the clubhouse and parking lot. Johnson said the golf course itself would not change.

The request would allow the clubhouse restaurant to remain open if the golf course closed unexpectedly. Johnson said the restaurant is the club’s largest source of revenue and that the zoning update could support a lease arrangement involving the restaurant and the nine-hole course, or a possible future purchase. The restaurant is currently leased by Shannon Exford.
