Jefferson County’s Department of Social Services will hold its second annual food drive Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the DSS parking lot. The effort will collect donations for 18 food pantries in Jefferson County.
Organizers are accepting food, toiletries and pet food. Suggested seasonal donations include cranberry sauce, potatoes and stuffing.
The drive follows a similar event held in 2025, which the county’s Health & Human Services Committee later described as a success. Nicholle Lacey, the county’s deputy commissioner of social services, said rising food and living costs have increased the need for assistance.
