Jefferson County man pleads guilty in child sex abuse case

A Jefferson County man pleaded guilty in Albany County Court to a charge involving the sexual abuse of two boys, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

James Yerdon, 56, of Adams Center pleaded guilty to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office said. The case followed a State Police investigation involving two boys in Albany County and elsewhere in New York, officials said.

Yerdon is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 11 to 20 years in state prison followed by 20 years of post-release supervision. He also faces federal child pornography charges and a pending case in Oswego County, and is being held at the Onondaga County Correctional Facility, according to the district attorney’s office.
