Jefferson County tests drone during Pillar Point water-rescue exercise

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tested its new Autel Alpha drone during a simulated water-rescue exercise in Pillar Point involving the Town of Brownville Fire District, the report said.

The drone dropped life vests to firefighters in the water while using its onboard camera to guide the release. The sheriff’s office acquired the drone in April and has since used it several times to help search for missing people in Jefferson County.
