A 30-year-old Liverpool woman was charged with driving while intoxicated and four counts of aggravated DWI with a child following a traffic stop Sunday in the Town of Leyden, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Four children under 16 were reportedly in the vehicle.

Deputies said they encountered the woman during a welfare check involving a suspected disabled 2023 Ford Bronco on State Route 12. The sheriff’s office said she appeared impaired, failed standardized field sobriety tests and later registered a blood alcohol content of 0.14% at the Lewis County Public Safety Building. She was arraigned at Town of Lowville CAP Court and released on her own recognizance.
