Massena man faces rape trial in St. Lawrence County Court

Court records identify the defendant as Mr. Howell, about 23. The top charge, first-degree rape, is a Class B felony; the indictment also lists second-degree strangulation, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.
The charges stem from an incident dated Nov. 2, 2024. Howell was arrested Nov. 19, 2025 by the Massena Village Police Department and has pleaded not guilty. The case is before Judge Gregory P. Storie.
