North Country communities awarded more than $22 million for water projects
New York officials announced more than $22 million in grants and financing for water infrastructure projects in Croghan, Ogdensburg and Peru.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced more than $22 million in state funding for water infrastructure projects in the North Country. The funding is part of an $85 million statewide package approved by the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation Board of Directors.
The Village of Croghan is set to receive $9.9 million for water-main and transmission-main work, valve and hydrant upgrades, and a new water district. Ogdensburg was awarded $3 million for stormwater improvements at the Downtown Mall Parking Area. The Town of Peru is set to receive $9.4 million for filtration upgrades intended to reduce disinfection byproducts.
