North Country Savings Bank began demolition work Tuesday, Aug. 18, as part of a redevelopment of its Potsdam branch at 31 Main Street. The project follows the June 9 demolition of the Cubley House at 33 Main St. and is expected to be completed next year.
The bank said customers can continue in-person banking at a temporary facility behind the property during construction. The drive-thru lane and interactive teller machine will remain available, although entrance and exit routes have changed. The location no longer has a night dropbox; customers can use the interactive teller machine or mobile app for deposits outside business hours.
