Ogdensburg City Council approved a $31,340.38 tax levy adjustment after a U.S. Postal Service property at 431 State Street was mistakenly included in taxable assessments. The correction affects taxes collected for the Ogdensburg City School District, as well as city and county taxes.
The property was transferred from the Growth Fund to the Postal Service and should have been listed as wholly exempt. St. Lawrence County amended its records, and the city approved resolutions to correct the assessment and adjust the levy. The correction is separate from an earlier 2025 issue involving about $30 million in tax-exempt properties included on the city's taxable assessment roll.
