Ogdensburg International Airport now has 35 airport-specific employees as passenger traffic increases, according to Airport Manager Charlie Garrelts.
Ogdensburg International Airport now has 35 airport-specific employees, Airport Manager Charlie Garrelts told the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority board during its August meeting. The workers include Transportation Security Administration staff, airline operations employees and authority personnel. The total does not include airline pilots.
Garrelts said staffing is expected to increase as passenger traffic grows, with the TSA receiving additional staffing allocations and airlines adding personnel. Authority Chairman Sam Burns said the airport workforce contributes significantly to the local economy.
