A 24 year old male, is being held in the St. Lawrence County jail after an Ogdensburg judge issued a bench warrant earlier this month over an alleged violation of his probation, Ogdensburg City Court officials said.
The male was arrested in January and charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection with an alleged stabbing at an apartment on Ford Street in Ogdensburg. Police said he was taken into custody near Greene and Franklin streets after leaving the area.
Court documents allege that a man told police he saw adult male strike a woman. The man said he tried to intervene and was then stabbed in the arm with a kitchen knife. The 24 year old was released under probation supervision after his January arraignment before Ogdensburg City Court Judge Marcia Lemay.
The male is accused of the charges, and the allegations have not been adjudicated in court.
