
Pedestrian dies after SUV crash on Route 126 in Champion
A 45-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by an SUV on State Route 126 in the town of Champion, State Police said.
A 45-year-old pedestrian died after a collision involving an SUV on State Route 126 in the town of Champion, State Police said. Troopers responded to the crash at about 4:25 a.m. Sept. 8.
State Police said a preliminary investigation found that a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander traveling eastbound struck the pedestrian, who was also walking eastbound. The pedestrian was identified as Christopher Perciful of Watertown. The investigation remains ongoing. West Carthage Fire Department, Carthage Area Rescue and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
