Potsdam scholarship to support future high school history teachers
The Potsdam College Foundation has expanded the Mr. C Scholarship to support SUNY Potsdam juniors and seniors preparing to teach high school history or social studies.
The Potsdam College Foundation has broadened the Mr. C Scholarship at SUNY Potsdam to support juniors and seniors preparing to teach high school history or social studies, the college said.
The fund honors William J. Champney ’64, a SUNY Potsdam alumnus and Professor Emeritus who taught high school history before returning to the college in 1968. Preference will be given to students from St. Lawrence County and the North Country. The scholarship was established in 2010 and originally supported theater students.
