Potsdam Village Administrator Isabelle Gates-Shult said the village’s six-week summer recreation camp averaged 82 campers per week this year, more than twice last year’s attendance.
Potsdam’s summer recreation camp averaged 82 campers per week during its six-week program this year, according to Village Administrator Isabelle Gates-Shult. She told village board members Aug. 17 that weekly attendance was generally in the mid- to high-80s.
The program began in its current structured, themed format last year at Sandstoner Park. This year’s themes included Adventure in the USA, America’s Got Talent and Ball is Life. The camp operates with additional staff and training, along with a state day-camp license and health inspections.
