Sock Out Cancer is partnering with Mozaic and Finger Lakes Textiles to produce its fundraising socks in Waterloo, bringing the manufacturing operation to New York’s Seneca County after previously being handled overseas.
The nonprofit sells the socks for $10. Half of the proceeds goes to cancer patients, while the other half supports manufacturing. Finger Lakes Textiles began making the socks at the start of the year and now has a dedicated machine for the production. The organizations said the partnership also creates competitive-wage work for people with disabilities.
