St. Lawrence Central School voters are scheduled to vote Dec. 16 on a proposed $16.2 million capital project. A public hearing is planned for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 16 in the middle/high school library, and voting is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. Dec. 16 in the middle school gymnasium.
The proposal includes replacing roofs on the district’s three buildings, expanding air conditioning, reconfiguring the high school science wing to create another classroom, and upgrading playgrounds and paved play areas. It also includes walking paths, gym equipment and flooring improvements, and replacing eight overhead doors at the bus garage.
Superintendent Christopher W. Rose said the district expects state building aid, EXCEL funding and its capital reserve to cover the project without additional tax impact. The current schedule calls for bidding in early 2028, construction to begin in spring 2028 and completion in December 2029.
