
Students Explore Healthcare Careers Through St. Lawrence County MASH Camps
Twenty area high school students took part in two three-day MASH camps focused on healthcare careers in Gouverneur and Potsdam.
Twenty high school students from across the region participated in two three-day Medical Academy of Science & Health camps in Gouverneur and Potsdam, where they explored healthcare careers and learned from professionals in multiple clinical and hospital-support fields.
The Gouverneur Hospital camp was held with the Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization, while the Canton-Potsdam Hospital camp was held with the Northern Area Health Education Center. Students also completed CPR training, basic first aid and Narcan instruction; those who completed the CPR session earned certification. Participating communities included Potsdam, Canton, Norwood, Colton, Hammond, Gouverneur, Watertown and Malone.
