
SUNY Potsdam plans free public screening of math documentary
SUNY Potsdam will host a free public screening of “Counted Out” on Sept. 23, followed by a question-and-answer session.
SUNY Potsdam is scheduled to show the documentary “Counted Out” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the Barrington Student Union Multi-Purpose Room. The event is free and open to the public, and guests are encouraged to register in advance, although tickets are not required.
The film examines the role of mathematics in issues including political polarization, racial bias, social injustice, economic inequality, climate change and the pandemic. A question-and-answer session will follow the screening. An online showing is also planned for students in SUNY Potsdam’s online degree programs.
