Two charged after fentanyl found during Ogdensburg traffic stop

Two people were charged after deputies said a K-9 detected narcotics during a traffic stop on New York Avenue in Ogdensburg on Aug. 13.

Michael D. Wells, 40, of Massena, and Melissa R. Gordon, 46, of Ogdensburg, were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop on New York Avenue in Ogdensburg on Aug. 13, according to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said a sheriff’s K-9 alerted to narcotics and that the pair were found with an unreported amount of fentanyl. They were released on appearance tickets for Ogdensburg City Court. Ogdensburg police assisted with the investigation.
