Watertown considers $2.8 million overhaul of Richards Drive

Watertown is considering expanding planned Richards Drive drainage work into a nearly $2.8 million reconstruction of the street.

WatertownGovernment

Watertown is considering expanding planned improvements on Richards Drive into a larger project that would cost about $2.8 million. The original work was estimated at $1.2 million to $1.5 million and focused on improving stormwater drainage.

The expanded plan would rebuild the street and replace water and storm sewer infrastructure, curbs and sidewalks. The project could be delayed from an earlier target of this fall or next spring. City Council member Doug Osborne, who lives on Richards Drive, may consult the city attorney about a possible conflict before voting on the proposal.
