Watertown council awards nearly $8 million contract for water-line replacement

The Watertown City Council awarded a nearly $8 million contract to replace a 16-inch water line that burst in October 2023, according to the submitted research material.

The break occurred near Eastern Boulevard and Huntington Street in front of the water treatment plant. It led to a boil-water advisory and a four-day water emergency, and left the city close to running out of water.
