Watertown’s girls soccer team is positioned to complete an undefeated regular season after building a 14-1 overall record and going 9-0 in the Frontier League.
The Cyclones’ only loss this season was a 6-0 home defeat against Fayetteville-Manlius in September, according to team records. Watertown had secured at least a share of the Frontier League Division I title by Oct. 6.
Watertown defeated South Jefferson 5-2 on Oct. 6. Ella Bowman scored twice and added an assist, while Olivia Macutek, Milan Gosier and Aliza Overton also scored, according to game reports.
The team went 7-8-1 overall and 6-3-1 in league play last season. In the previous postseason, Watertown lost a Class AA quarterfinal to Whitesboro after a 1-1 draw through overtime, falling on penalty kicks.
Watertown has one remaining opportunity to finish the regular season without another loss. The Cyclones compete in the Frontier League and represent Watertown High School in the Watertown City School District.
