Town Supervisor Jim Wright said the town has relied on its share of Jefferson County sales-tax revenue and has not imposed a town tax. The town’s equalization rate has not changed since 1990, and county officials say it is 45.5% this year and is expected to fall to 42.5% next year. Wright said the town board is waiting for the results of a state audit before deciding how to proceed.
