The Watertown wastewater plant reported an estimated 80,250-gallon untreated discharge into the Black River on Sept. 1, after rain produced flows greater than the treatment plant’s capacity.

The New York Sewage Pollution Right to Know update said the discharge began at about 9 a.m. at the Influent A combined sewer overflow at 700 William T. Field Drive and continued for 36 minutes. The update listed potentially affected public areas as unknown and said the plant followed wet-weather procedures.
