
Winthrop man charged in alleged burglaries and vehicle thefts
State police and Massena police charged a Winthrop man with burglary, larceny and other offenses after alleged thefts in Brasher and Massena.
Jon Larue, 35, of Winthrop, was charged with multiple offenses after alleged thefts in the town of Brasher and the village of Massena, according to the submitted report and source material. State police said the charges include burglary, criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Massena police filed additional charges, including multiple counts of grand larceny. Court documents cited in the source material allege Larue possessed $11,470 in property stolen from two vehicles and took about $5,800 in tools, batteries and other items from a vehicle in a Walmart parking lot. He was arraigned in Massena Village Court and is being held in the St. Lawrence County jail on $15,000 bail.
