A 62-year-old woman was found dead inside a home after a fire at 660 County Rd. 4 in the Town of Preston, according to information attributed to New York State Police. Her name was not released.
State Police, the Norwich City Fire Department and the Town of Preston Fire Department responded around 2:20 a.m. The home was engulfed and later destroyed. The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Chenango County fire investigators are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
