Deferiet woman dies after LeRay crash, State Police say
A 31-year-old Deferiet woman died after a two-vehicle crash on County Route 46 in LeRay on Sept. 27, according to New York State Police.
A 31-year-old Deferiet woman died after a crash on County Route 46 in the town of LeRay on Sunday, Sept. 27, New York State Police said. She was a passenger in a 2002 Honda CR-V involved in a head-on collision with a 2023 Buick Encore.
Police said the Honda was driven by a 32-year-old Gouverneur man and the Buick by a 65-year-old Theresa man. All three people were taken to Samaritan Medical Center. The woman was later pronounced dead, while both drivers suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
