Fort Drum warns of increased noise during artillery, field exercises

Fort Drum officials warned that training exercises will increase activity and noise levels, including live-fire artillery qualifications and a Mountain Peak exercise.

Fort Drum officials warned of increased activity and noise during upcoming military training exercises. The 3rd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment is scheduled to conduct live-fire artillery qualification exercises on Monday and Tuesday.

Soldiers with the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, are also scheduled to conduct the Mountain Peak exercise from Tuesday, Oct. 20, through Thursday, Oct. 29. The exercise will include infantry maneuver, force-on-force training, aviation support and indirect long-range fires. The artillery qualifications will involve multiple systems, including High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, Army Tactical Missile Systems and Guided Multiple-Launch Rocket Systems.
