Goodrich appointed to St. Lawrence County Legislature District 13 seat
Terry Goodrich was appointed to the St. Lawrence County Legislature’s District 13 seat after John Gennett resigned, and Goodrich is on the Nov. 3 ballot for a full term.

Terry Goodrich, a Republican from Brasher Falls, was appointed Monday, Oct. 26, to the St. Lawrence County Legislature’s District 13 seat. The appointment fills the vacancy created by John Gennett’s resignation and lasts for the rest of 2026.
The District 13 seat covers the Brasher, Massena and Town of Lawrence areas. Goodrich will face Democrat Setcher Krywanczyk in the Nov. 3 general election for a full term. The county Legislature has 15 members elected to four-year terms.
Gennett resigned Oct. 5 after taking a job out of state. At an Oct. 19 special meeting, legislators formed an ad hoc committee to find a replacement but did not make an appointment. Goodrich had announced his candidacy for the seat earlier this year and previously served as chair of the Town of Brasher Board of Assessment and Review.
District 13 is one of the county’s larger geographic districts. During Gennett’s tenure, he worked on county infrastructure, solar projects, data centers and the Smart Path Connect grid project. Goodrich’s position on those issues has not been established in the submitted material.
The Nov. 3 election will determine who serves the full term. The County Board of Legislators generally holds its regular monthly meeting on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m.; residents can check the St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators website for the 2026 meeting schedule and additional information.
