A Mohawk man was sentenced to concurrent five-year probation terms in Jefferson County Court after being accused of taking cattle from two farms in the town of Ellisburg in January.
Brent Bruneau was accused of taking four Holstein calves from Bellwood Farms and 13 Holstein heifers from Birch Creek Farm. He was sentenced for third-degree attempted grand larceny and third-degree attempted burglary.
Bruneau was also ordered to pay more than $19,000 in restitution. The source material says $9,000 has been paid, with the remaining balance to be paid in monthly installments of $500.
