The two-dose measles, mumps and rubella vaccine is highly effective at preventing the disease. People who suspect they or their children have measles symptoms are advised to call a health care provider or emergency room before arriving in person. Symptoms can include fever, cough, runny nose, red, watery eyes and a rash.
