Jefferson County SPCA changes some hours during animal outbreaks
The Jefferson County SPCA has temporarily closed its Petco Adoption Center and cat wing while keeping its main shelter and dog wing open during a feline panleukopenia outbreak.
The Jefferson County SPCA’s Petco Adoption Center will be closed Monday, Oct. 12, because no animals are currently available at that location, the organization said in an operational update.
The cat wing at the main shelter in Watertown also remains closed while staff manage an ongoing feline panleukopenia outbreak. The main shelter and dog wing remain open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for adoptions and regular shelter services. The SPCA said full services will return as soon as possible.
