Massena Village Trustee Shelyn Peets will not appear on the Nov. 3 ballot after an issue involving her filing paperwork and receipt of a declaration of candidacy, according to a publicly posted statement attributed to Peets.
Peets said voters who want to support her will need to write her name in for village trustee. She is completing the final year of an unexpired term and is seeking a full term on the board. She also served on the board after winning election in 2023 and returned in 2025 to fill another unexpired term.
