Teams across the North Country competed Saturday in high school and college sports, with results reported in football, soccer, golf, hockey and volleyball.
In high school football, Whitesboro defeated Watertown 48-28, while Gouverneur beat Massena 35-13. Other results included Carthage over Corcoran, 42-8; Sandy Creek over Hannibal, 54-6; and Potsdam over Tupper Lake, 44-6.
College women’s hockey results included Clarkson’s 6-3 win over RIT and Wisconsin’s 6-2 victory over St. Lawrence. In college women’s volleyball, SUNY Potsdam swept Paul Smith’s 3-0, and SUNY Canton defeated SUNY Poly 3-1.
Other reported results included Lowville’s 222-224 boys golf win over South Lewis; a 5-3 boys soccer victory by IHC over Pulaski; Harrisville’s 1-0 boys and girls soccer wins over Thousand Islands; and Massena’s 3-2 volleyball win over OFA.
