Ogdensburg youth sports facility receives first phase of upgrades
The Cliff Montroy Youth Sports Facility in Ogdensburg has received field improvements and new electronic scoreboards through a project involving the Kiwanis Club, the city and donors.
The first phase of a renovation project at Ogdensburg’s Cliff Montroy Youth Sports Facility has been completed, including upgrades to two baseball diamonds and the installation of electronic scoreboards.
The work included rebuilding batter’s boxes and pitching mounds and leveling areas near second base. The project involved the Ogdensburg Kiwanis Club and the city’s Department of Public Works. Kiwanis raised $23,000, while additional support came from the St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union and private memorial donations.
The scoreboards were donated by the Morristown School District and are expected to support Kiwanis baseball, softball and soccer programs, as well as peewee football. Future phases are planned to address bleacher roofs, backstops, fencing and the concession stand.
