
Potsdam man charged in child exploitation investigation

Gabriel A. Vergara was arrested and charged in connection with an investigation involving alleged child sexual abuse material and child exploitation, New York State Police said.
Vergara faces one count of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, charged as a sexually motivated felony, and one count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child. State police said a search warrant was executed Aug. 20 at a residence in Potsdam. Vergara was arraigned in Town of Norfolk Court on behalf of Town of Potsdam Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
