PotsdamGovernment

The Town of Potsdam is seeking more than $10 million from Capital Consultants Inc., which does business as C2AE, in a lawsuit tied to engineering services for the Route 56 water and sewer projects. The complaint was filed Sept. 25 in St. Lawrence County Supreme Court and also names John Doe Incorporated as a defendant.

The town alleges C2AE failed to provide design, construction administration, environmental review, permitting and other services properly or on time. The complaint alleges overbilling, increased costs, lost funding and other financial damages. The town also accuses the firm of negligence and seeks more than $10 million, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. The allegations have not been proven in court. The firm had 20 days to respond, and no response had been uploaded to the court database when the report was published.
