Shepard Street residents report ongoing low water pressure, no hot water

Residents on Shepard Street in the Town of Watertown reported low water pressure and, in one case, no hot water while a proposed public water district remains on hold.

Residents on Shepard Street in the Town of Watertown are reporting low water pressure from an aging private water line. One resident also reported having no hot water and being unable to shower or bathe at home.

The private line is owned by residents, and a proposed town water district is on hold while the town reviews its finances. Meeting minutes say Supervisor James Wright told the Town Board that the town could not promise a project it could not deliver. Residents continue to receive water bills, including a reported bill of $250 for one month despite limited service.
