Water truck driver injured in rollover crash on I-81 in Homer

State police said a water truck driver was injured after the truck left Interstate 81 and rolled down a slope in Homer on Monday morning.

A water truck driver was injured Monday morning after the truck left Interstate 81 and rolled down a slope in the Town of Homer, according to New York State Police. The driver, 34, was taken by ambulance to SUNY Upstate Medical Center. The severity of the injuries was not disclosed.

Police said a preliminary investigation found the truck was traveling north when a tire failed. The right lane near mile marker 58.6 remained closed at about 10:30 a.m. The investigation was ongoing.
