Watertown council considers changes to municipal arena ice schedule

Watertown City Council members are weighing two proposals for allocating ice time at the Watertown Municipal Arena. The options would either preserve more time for the Watertown Hockey Association or provide additional time to Powerplay Sports, while reducing time for the hockey association.

Council members have discussed reviewing attendance figures for Tuesday and Thursday public skates before deciding whether some time could be reassigned. Council member Doug Osbourne also raised the possibility of testing the second option for one year while the city develops a longer-term policy. Further discussion is scheduled for the council’s meeting next Monday.
