Sources and how we checked

Races and party lines come from the county boards of elections’ certified candidate lists and official sample ballots. Every candidate gets the same fields and a biography of similar length from official or published records, with the source linked. Photos are official government or campaign portraits, shown in a race only when every candidate has one. Candidates are listed alphabetically. Results are unofficial until certified and always show their source and time. ClickNNY does not endorse candidates and does not call races.

Not yet verified (10)
  • BiographiesSeveral challengers and most town and village candidates had no published biographical information we could verify, so their cards say so. Incumbent biographies come from county and state government records. Candidates can send a short bio with a source.
  • PhotosA race shows photos only when every candidate in it has an official government or campaign portrait. Races where any candidate's photo could not be found show initials for everyone.
  • Jefferson County Sheriff party lineThe county's signed certification lists no party for Peter R. Barnett; the City of Watertown sample ballot shows him on the Republican line, which is what we list.
  • Village of Dexter trusteesThe certification prints the candidates' independent line only as "Vote". We have not confirmed the full line name.
  • Supreme Court, 4th Judicial DistrictSt. Lawrence County sample ballots say vote for up to four; an earlier Board of Elections office list appeared to show two seats. We follow the printed ballot.
  • Lewis County TreasurerThe race is on the official sample ballots. We have not confirmed why the seat is up this year.
  • Town of Denmark justiceListed by the Lewis County Board of Elections as an office to be filled, but it does not appear on the Denmark sample ballots.
  • St. Lawrence County Legislature districts on the mapClifton, Parishville and Pierrepont have no sample ballot of their own posted, so the map does not assign them a legislature district. All 15 districts are listed below.
  • Incumbency in towns and villagesTaken from county officeholder rosters published early in 2026; appointments made since may not be reflected.
  • Write-in candidatesWe list only names printed on the official ballot. Declared write-in candidates are not listed.
