John Michno is running for the District 15 seat on the St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators, which covers Waddington, Louisville and part of Massena. According to his campaign Facebook page, he lives in Waddington, is originally from Tonawanda and is married. The page lists him as a permanently certified school counselor who has worked as a counselor for St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES since 2000. He has not previously held county office. In an interview with North Country Public Radio he said he would bring his counseling background to the job and named tariffs on Canada as a main issue, along with economic development, jobs, health care, housing, mental health and child welfare. His campaign has not published a detailed platform.
