Croghan man, 56, remembered; celebration of life set for Aug. 28 in Lowville

Lansing K. Steiner, 56, of Croghan, died Aug. 11, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, according to an obituary published by Sundquist Funeral Home. The obituary says he was born Aug. 7, 1970, and that his death followed complications from Type 1 diabetes. Calling hours and a celebration of life are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Sundquist Funeral Home, 7676 N State St., Lowville. The obituary says Steiner graduated from Beaver River Central School in 1989 and earned a degree in radio and television broadcasting from Herkimer County Community College in 1992. It says he worked in property management and hospitality and competed in demolition derby for 37 years in New York, Florida and Georgia. ClickNNY has not independently confirmed this account.
