Fall foliage is beginning to change across St. Lawrence County, according to the latest I LOVE NY Fall Foliage Report. The report says the biggest statewide changes are expected this weekend in the Adirondacks.
The report estimated 35% foliage change in Wanakena at the Five Ponds Wilderness, with red, orange and yellow leaves and some leaf drop. Potsdam and Eisenhower Lock in Massena were each estimated at about 20% change, with yellow and some red reported in Massena.
The report is based on observations from more than 100 volunteer field observers and is issued each Wednesday. I LOVE NY defines peak foliage as the season's best overall appearance, considering color change, brightness and leaf drop.
