New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation will waive fishing license requirements Saturday, Sept. 26, for a statewide Free Fishing Day. The event includes freshwater locations in St. Lawrence County, including the St. Lawrence River.
The waiver applies to New York residents and nonresidents, but all other fishing rules remain in effect, including regulations on seasons, catch limits, sizes and methods. Outside designated free-fishing days, anyone age 16 or older must have a current New York fishing license.
